Post 16. The Technological Aspect of Redeemed Man's Destiny as It Applies to the Future Age (The Creation, Volume I: Chapter 3, Subhead 4)

The Technological Aspect of Redeemed Man’s Destiny as It Applies to the Future Age (Post 16. CVIC3S4)

The authority for the technological aspect of redeemed man’s destiny, as it applies to the future age is considered to be the passages of the Bible and the inspired sources.  As we saw in the previous post, Post 15, at the beginning of the future age, new Jerusalem “descends out of heaven” (Rev. 21:2) and, presumably, for a time will dwell in proximity to the earth.  New Jerusalem, it is believed, will be the dwelling place of Jesus Christ, the church of Jesus Christ, and other redeemed members of mankind in that age.  However, some of these members of mankind, it is believed, will be involved in the repopulation of the earth and the reconstruction of civilization on the planet.  Therefore, after the restoration of man's civilization on earth, these people probably will not dwell permanently aboard the spaceship, New Jerusalem.  This civilization will be an advanced interstellar civilization in the service of Jesus Christ, who as "KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS" (Rev. 19:16), will reign over the kingdom of God in the future age.  Because Satan and the spiritual angels who served him in the present age will not dwell in the blessed part of the creation where the kingdom of God will exist in the future age, the latter will be a kingdom of joy, righteousness, holiness, peace, and prosperity in that age.

Presumably, Jerusalem, the earth, and the solar system will become the capital city, capital planet, and the capital stellar system, respectively, of the Milky Way Galaxy of the kingdom of God in the future age. However, the kingdom of God will eventually comprise more galaxies than just the Milky Way Galaxy.  In this context, what exactly is the “new earth “and the “new heaven” that John referred to in Rev. 21:1?  The “new earth,” it is believed, can be viewed as the changed earth in the future age, and the “new heaven,” it is believed, can be viewed as, not only the changed sky (atmosphere) that will surround the changed earth in the future age, but also the changed celestial bodies of the celestial vault as viewed from earth that will comprise the changed matter universe in the future age. Therefore, the “new heaven,” along with the “new earth,” could be considered to be the changed matter universe in the future age.

However, the “new heaven” can be considered to be even more.  The “new heaven” it is believed, can be viewed as not only as the changed sky (atmosphere) surrounding the changed earth, and the changed celestial bodies of the changed matter universe, but also the changed mystical, spiritual, and new spiritual finite realms and the unchanged infinite features of the creation (the dwelling place of the spiritual angels and the Creator, respectively) in the future age.  These three interpretations would parallel the three meanings of the term, “heaven” in Christian and Judaic theology:  (1) the sky (atmosphere) surrounding the earth, (2) the celestial bodies of the celestial vault (the matter universe), and (3) the spiritual realm(s) where the Creator and the spiritual angels dwell.  However, the second of these three contexts may be the most appropriate in describing the “new heaven” in Rev. 21:1.

In addition to the new heaven and new earth referred to by John in Rev. 21:1, he also refers to a  “new  Jerusalem”  in Rev. 21:2.  In Rev. 21:2 John states that he saw, presumably, in a vision, “the holy city, new Jerusalem,” coming down from God out of heaven.  Therefore, new Jerusalem apparently is a city, but, as we shall see, it is one unlike any that man has seen in the present age. This view seems to be supported by the given dimensions of this city.  In Rev. 21: 16 it is stated that “the length and the breadth and the height of it are equal,” and each of these dimensions is 12,000 furlongs.  Converting furlongs to miles (one furlong=one-eighth mile), the dimensions of new Jerusalem are found to be 1,500 miles in length, breadth, and height.  In Rev. 21:16, we read

16  And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as
large as the breadth:  and he measured the city with
the reed, twelve thousand furlongs.  The length and
the breadth and the height of it are equal.
The above dimensions are capable of describing several different configurations.  One of these is a cube possessing a length, breadth, and height of 1,500 miles.  Another is a pyramid possessing a length, breadth, and height of 1,500 miles.  However, it is unlikely that new Jerusalem is in the shape of either a cube or a pyramid.  These configurations would look out of place in a changed matter universe comprised of spherical celestial bodies.   Another interesting configuration is one in which two pyramids are joined at their bases.  This configuration is depicted in Figure 10.  Click on the picture to enlarge.  From a distance, the emitted light of a body of this configuration would cause the latter to resemble a cut gem or a twinkling star.  This configuration is also shaped somewhat like a cross, and may symbolize the cross upon which Jesus Christ died.  It may also symbolize the mystical cross of the south enclosures of the mystical realm, where the particles associated with mystical technology originate.  In addition, this configuration would allow a balanced distribution of the mass of new Jerusalem between the top and bottom halves of the object.  This may be significant if this body is propelled by means of electromagnetic supersymmetric engines located along the medial aspect of the body.

New Jerusalem, as noted previously, probably would be incapable of descending to the surface of celestial bodies, such as the earth, and make contact with them without causing gravitational instability that would affect both bodies. Because of this, it may be concluded that new Jerusalem is not a permanent replacement for the former city of Jerusalem that existed on earth in the present age-though a permanent city will probably be built on, or near, the same location as the former city on the changed earth of the future age.  Rather, new Jerusalem, it is believed, is a very large spaceship-one possibly in existence at the present time, and one that may be actually called, “New Jerusalem.”  Because this is the view taken in The Creation, the first letters of the two words that form the name of this city, henceforth, will be capitalized and the name of this spaceship treated as a proper noun, that is, New Jerusalem.
In the future age, New Jerusalem, it is believed, will be capable of interstellar voyages, and even intergalactic voyages.  However, this spaceship, undoubtedly, will also return to earth periodically.  When it does, it is possible that New Jerusalem will replace the moon in its orbit around the earth.  Because New Jerusalem is smaller, and presumably less massive than the moon, it may be required to establish an orbit around the earth that is closer to the earth than that of the moon.  And where would the moon be relocated to during these visits of New Jerusalem to earth?  If it is assumed that the means to move the moon will exist in the future age (and may already exist in the present age), then it would not be difficult to transport the moon to the vicinity of the planet Jupiter, and temporarily make it a Jovian moon.  It would also appear possible to design and construct a small part of New Jerusalem that is capable of separating from the main body of the spaceship, and descending to the earth.  Its destination would be the city of Jerusalem, and the environs surrounding the present temple mount.  This small part of New Jerusalem could be considered the New Jerusalem sanctuary on earth, and would serve that purpose as long as New Jerusalem remained in orbit around the earth.  The dimensions of the New Jerusalem sanctuary may be the same as those of the kingdom age/millennium sanctuary that the prophet Ezekiel
saw in a vision.   Ezk. 45:1-2 reads:
1  Moreover, when ye shall divide by lot the
land for inheritance, ye shall offer an oblation
unto the LORD, an holy portion of the land:  the length
shall be the length of five and twenty thousand reeds,
and the breadth shall be ten thousand.  This shall be holy
in all the borders thereof round about.
2  Of this there shall be for the sanctuary five hundred
in length, with five hundred in breadth, square round
about; and fifty cubits round about for the suburbs thereof.
Here, the sanctuary area is described as a square measuring five hundred cubits on each side.  When converted to feet (1 cubit=18 inches or 1.5 feet) the sanctuary area measures about seven hundred and fifty feet on each side.  A sanctuary of these dimensions could be accommodated by the temple mount of Jerusalem.

In addition to the New Jerusalem sanctuary, it may be possible to design and construct aboard New Jerusalem a city that corresponds in size to Jerusalem at the time of the ministry of Jesus Christ on earth.  This city, it is believed, is designated in the Bible the “great city, the holy Jerusalem,” which descends “out of heaven from God “(Rev.21:10).  It can be contrasted to the “holy city, new Jerusalem (or New Jerusalem),” which comes “down from God out of heaven” (Rev. 21:2).  Whereas the former is joined to the sanctuary of New Jerusalem, and may be used as an administration center that serves the kingdom of God, when New Jerusalem periodically visits earth; the latter is the spaceship, New Jerusalem.  After the latter has descended to its proper orbit around the earth, the former, it is believed, will separate from New Jerusalem and descend out of heaven to the surface of the earth.  Here, it will land in an area prepared for it on, and in the immediate vicinity, of the temple mount of the city of Jerusalem.
This area will have been cleared of structures in preparation for the arrival of the great city, holy Jerusalem.  And as alluded to above, this area will coincide with the area of Jerusalem that was encompassed with walls at the time of Jesus Christ’s earthly ministry.  The means by which the great city, holy Jerusalem, will travel from the spaceship, New Jerusalem, to the area prepared for it on earth, it is believed, is by means of propulsion engines based on mystical technology.  Presumably, these are built into and are part of the great city, holy Jerusalem.  The walls that will encompass the perimeter of the great city, holy Jerusalem, may be described by John in Rev. 21: 17-27.  Here, we read:
17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and

forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a

man, that is, of the angel.

18 And the building of the wall of it was as jasper: and

the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.

19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were

garnished with all manner of precious stones.  The first

foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a

chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;

20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh,

chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth,

a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an

amethyst.

21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every

several gate was of one pearl:  and the street of the city

was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

22 And I saw no temple therein:  for the Lord God

almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the

moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it,

and the Lamb is the light thereof.

24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk

in the light of it:  and the kings of the earth do bring their

glory and honour  into it.

25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day:

for their shall be no night there.

26 And they shall bring the glory and honour of the

nations into it.

27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing
that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination,

or maketh a lie:  but they which are written in the Lamb’s

book of life.
New Jerusalem, it is believed, will be the capital of the kingdom of God  in the future age.  Here, Jesus Christ, the church of Jesus Christ, other redeemed members of mankind, and possibly some spiritually saved living entities of the advanced interstellar civilizations will dwell.  The city of Jerusalem on earth, in this respect, may be the capital of the Milky Way Galaxy in the future age. But the Milky Way Galaxy, as man has discovered, is only one of billions of galaxies in the matter universe.  Just as the matter universe of the present age is comprised of billions of galaxies, presumably, the changed matter universe of the future age will also be comprised of billions of galaxies, as well.  The kingdom of God, in the future age, then, will comprise not only the Milky Way Galaxy, but other galaxies, also.  More specifically, the kingdom of God, it is believed, will include all stellar systems of a galaxy that have been visited by interstellar and intergalactic spaceships of the kingdom.  Therefore, a distinction will exist, it is believed, in the future age between the city of Jerusalem on earth, the capital of the Milky Way Galaxy, and the spaceship city of New Jerusalem, the capital of the kingdom of God.

If it is assumed that New Jerusalem is a very large spaceship, what does this mean with regard to the technological aspect of redeemed man’s destiny in the future age?  In The Creation, it is assumed that man’s advanced interstellar civilization will be closely associated with New Jerusalem.   Presumably, the interstellar spaceships of man’s civilization will be “hangared” within the vast interior of New Jerusalem.  The purpose of these, it is believed, will be to support the activities of Jesus Christ, the church of Jesus Christ, other redeemed members of mankind, and the spiritually saved living entities of the advanced interstellar civilizations.  However, it is assumed that the latter will have their own very large spaceship located in other galaxies to operate from, and may not dwell permanently at New Jerusalem.  The spaceships of the kingdom that will provide this support, undoubtedly, will be interstellar spaceships employing mystical technology.  It is not known, for certain, if spaceships, such as these, will be needed to provide support in all cases and situations.  Jesus Christ, as the incarnate Son of God, that is, the Son (the Word), the second Person the Triune Godhead, would be capable of accomplishing anything in any given situation, if this was the will of the Creator.  In this case, the Creator refers to the Father, the first person of the Triune Godhead.

However, it is assumed that it will be the desire of the Creator for redeemed man and the spiritually saved living entities of the advanced interstellar civilizations to be actively involved in the growth and expansion of the kingdom of God in the future age.  Therefore, the task of providing support for the activities of the kingdom of God in that age, it is believed, will primarily be carried out by redeemed man and the spiritually saved living entities of the advanced interstellar civilizations using spaceships that employ mystical technology.  Consequently, the technological aspect of redeemed man’s destiny in the future age could be considered to be, simply, providing support for the activities of the kingdom of God in that age.  In so doing, redeemed man and the living entities of the advanced interstellar civilizations will participate, eternally, in the exploration of the changed matter universe by means of spaceships employing mystical technology.
The kingdom of God, referred to above, pertains to the changed matter universe in the future age.  However, in a larger sense the kingdom of God also comprises all parts of the creation-including those in other realms-that have been visited by the living entities indigenous to those parts of the creation, and have come under the rule of God, that is, the Creator.  All parts of the three spiritual realms of the creation, wherein dwell spiritual living entities that serve the Creator, have been visited in the present age by the living entities, who are indigenous to those realms.   These three realms are the mystical realm, the spiritual realm, and the new spiritual realm.  Only in the matter universe of the material realm do there presently exist parts of that universe that have not been visited by the living entities, who serve the Creator, and are indigenous to that universe.   In The Creation, it is assumed that these unexplored parts of the matter universe in the present age will continue to exist in the changed matter universe in the future age.  These parts of the unexplored changed matter universe in the future age will be vast, and they may never be completely explored by redeemed man and other spiritually saved living entities of the kingdom of God.
As redeemed man and other spiritually saved living entities explore the changed matter universe in the future age, they will also enlarge the boundaries of the kingdom of God.  Every stellar system of a galaxy visited by the spaceships of the kingdom will become an addition to the kingdom of God.  However, there are billions of galaxies that exist beyond the Milky Way Galaxy, and there are billions of stellar systems that comprise each galaxy.  When one considers this, it is obvious that the expansion of the boundaries of the kingdom of God by means of spaceships employing mystical technology will be a slow process and involve a very long period of time.  However, the means will exist that will hasten this exploration.  One of these is the technological wormhole.  By means of this operation of mystical technology, spaceships of advanced interstellar civilizations in the present age are capable of being rapidly transported from one stellar system of the Milky Way Galaxy to another. It is assumed that technological wormholes will be used in a similar way in the future age.
However, technological wormholes will not enable spaceships to be transported from one galaxy to another.  Inspired sources reveal that for this, black hole gravity fields or technological brown hole gravity fields will be used by spaceships in the future age.  In The Creation, a black hole gravity field is considered to be derived from a natural black hole, while a technological brown hole gravity field is considered to be derived from an operation of mystical technology.  These means of space travel are not used by spaceships of the advanced interstellar civilizations at the present time.  Consequently, it is not possible for the spaceships of these civilizations to leave the Milky Way Galaxy in the present age.  Presumably, advanced  operations of mystical technology, such as those referred to above, will drastically reduce the amount of time required for a spaceship to travel between distant parts of the changed matter universe in the future age.
The exploration of the changed matter universe by spaceships of the kingdom of God in the future age will, of course, require a long period of time before this is completed, that is, if it ever is completed. However, this period of time is finite, and as such, carries with it temporal connotations rather than eternal connotations.  However, as we have seen, redeemed man and the spiritually saved living entities of the advanced interstellar civilizations will possess resurrected eternal bodies in the future age, and as such, this carries with it eternal connotations rather than temporal connotations.  How can the temporal aspects of the future age, mentioned above, be reconciled with the eternal aspects of the future age?  Is it possible that something can be learned from the study of this matter that will enable man to better understand the eventual fate of the matter universe, and its counterpart in the future age, that is, the changed matter universe?

creation as it is believed to exist at the
present time with accompanying key.

One possible fate of the changed matter universe in the future age that may reconcile the temporal and the eternal aspects of the future age is a fate in which the expansion of the matter universe in the present age continues at the same rate, or one greater, in the changed matter universe in the future age.  In order to accommodate this expansion, the creation would also have to gradually expand and increase its circumference, as well (Figure 9).  As we shall see in Volume IV of The Creation, this actually has been taking place for most of the history of the creation, and is continuing to take place at the present time.  Therefore, it would not be difficult to imagine that this expansion may continue in the future age, as well.  However, that does not necessarily mean that it will do so.  If the expansion of the matter universe in the present age would continue at the same rate, or one greater, than the changed matter universe in the future age, the galaxies of that universe would become more and more distant from one another over the course of time.  Eventually, a point would be reached when it would become impossible for spaceships to make stellar system discoveries at a rate that would enable this endeavor to ever be completed.   One could say that the spaceships of the kingdom of God would now have converted their endeavor of exploring the stellar systems of the changed matter universe from a temporal aspect to an eternal aspect-one which will take forever and ever to accomplish.
This may reconcile the temporal and eternal aspects of the future age, referred to above, and enable the temporal to be conformed to the eternal.  However, this reconciliation may not result in a changed matter universe that is satisfactory from the point of view of the living entities dwelling in it.  The reason for this is that over the course of time, the expanding changed matter universe would-unless the Creator intervened-succumb to the law of entropy.  The stars of the distant and isolated galaxies would one by one cease their thermonuclear activity and become burned-out cinders.  Then, the interstellar dust-the raw material for star formation-would gradually be used up and cease to exist in the amount needed for this activity.  Living entities dwelling in these “island galaxies,” because of the increasingly vast distances between them, probably would not be capable of intergalactic travel.  They also would find it increasingly difficult to discover star systems suitable for life within their galaxies.  Eventually, the changed matter universe, itself, and all the galaxies that comprised it, would become incapable of supporting life.
Although the above fate of the changed matter universe is possible, it is much too despairing, to be the true conclusion of the Creator’s plan and purpose for the creation and the life that dwells therein.  Another possible fate of the changed matter universe in the future age that may reconcile the temporal aspects with the eternal aspects of that age is a fate in which the expansion of the matter universe in the present age does not continue at the same rate, or one greater, than the changed matter universe in the future age.  Instead, this expansion slows and eventually ceases when the changed matter universe occupies the medial location within the outer region of the creation, where presently the new spiritual realm exists (Figure 9).  From the point of view of the living entities dwelling in the changed matter universe this would be a more satisfactory changed matter universe in which to dwell.  The reason for this is that the galaxies will not be growing more distant from one another as a result of the expansion of that universe to the point where intergalactic travel is impossible, or nearly so.  However, the nonexpanding changed matter universe would-unless the Creator intervened-succumb to the law of entropy, also.  The stars of the galaxies would one by one cease their thermonuclear activity and become burned-out cinders.  Then the interstellar dust-the raw material of star formation-would gradually be used up and cease to exist in the amount needed for this activity.  Eventually, the living entities dwelling in the galaxies would find it difficult to discover star systems where conditions were suitable for life.  Finally, the changed matter universe, itself, and all the galaxies that comprised it, would become incapable of supporting life.
However, in this possible fate of the changed matter universe, it is assumed that the Creator will intervene and make it possible for life to continue to live in that universe, eternally, that is, forever and ever.  How will the Creator accomplish this?  This, of course, is not known, for certain.  But it is possible that the interstellar dust-the raw material for star formation-will be created on a continuing basis in the changed matter universe of the future age.  The stars that will be formed from this interstellar dust will be formed in the same way that they are formed in the present age, with one notable difference, one that was alluded to above.  They all will be formed in response to the will and desire of the Creator, who will cause just enough stellar systems to be formed that it will be impossible for the spaceships of the kingdom of God to ever complete the discovery and exploration of these. Therefore, the supernatural attributes of the Creator, in the person of the Son (the Word), will make possible the reconciliation of the temporal and the eternal aspects of the future age, referred to above, and will create the conditions necessary for the changed matter universe to exist in a state in which spaceships of the kingdom of God will continue to explore the changed matter universe forever and ever in that age.
It may be added that in the above treatment of the temporal and eternal aspects of the changed matter universe of the future age, we are referring to aspects of time, rather than time, itself.  Time, itself, is a more mysterious phenomenon.  However, in The Creation, the view taken is that each of the four finite realms of the creation experience time slightly differently.  In addition, an expanding universe in the material realm possesses one kind of time, called forward time; while a contracting universe in the material realm possesses another kind of time, called reverse time.  This subject will be addressed in greater detail in Volume IV of The Creation, but suffice it here to say that a changed matter universe, such as that described above, that has a continually decreasing expansion rate in the future age until it arrives at a steady-state (no expansion and no contraction) could be viewed as a universe that will make a transition from forward time to steady-state time.  The latter could also be considered as eternal time.  Therefore, the living entities dwelling in the changed matter universe in the future age may be involved in a slow adaptation from forward time to eternal time.  Perhaps, in this way temporal time and eternal time, themselves, will be reconciled, and after the transition and the adaptation by the living entities of that universe to eternal time is completed, they will be prepared to live in a changed matter universe where not only the aspects of the temporal and the eternal are reconciled, but temporal time and eternal time are reconciled, as well.

Commentary

It is possible that the large dimensions of the spaceship, New Jerusalem, will not allow the spaceship to be transported by means of technological wormholes and black/brown hole gravity fields in the future age.  How then will New Jerusalem travel the vast distances between stellar systems and between galaxies of the matter universe in the future age?

It is assumed that the spaceship, New Jerusalem, like the spaceships of advanced interstellar civilizations, possesses electromagnetic supersymmetric propulsion engines, which are employed when the spaceship cruises through the space of stellar systems.  However, when these spaceships travel  through the deep space between two stellar systems, inspired sources indicate that they usually employ a wormhole if one exists and it is possible for them to do so.  This allows them to arrive at their destination much sooner than if they used electromagnetic supersymmetric propulsion.  But if New Jerusalem is incapable of employing a wormhole in its interstellar journeys, or a black/brown hole gravity field in its intergalactic journeys, does this mean that conventional spaceships of advanced interstellar civilizations will be capable of faster and more efficient travel in the deep space between stellar systems and galaxies than New Jerusalem in the future age?

Since the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ about two thousand years ago, he has become one with the Creator, in the person of the Son (the Word), the second person of the triune Godhead.  Therefore, it is not unreasonable to assume that when, in the future age, it is necessary for New Jerusalem to travel to someplace in the matter universe that is distant and requires too much time for this to be accomplished by means of the conventional propulsion system of the spaceship, Jesus Christ may rely on a creative phenomenon, which is referred to in The Creation as the manifestation of the spoken word.  As a result of this phenomenon, which appears to involve speaking and causing something to come into existence, the spaceship, New Jerusalem, may travel very quickly to its destination in the matter universe in a way that, perhaps, only Jesus Christ could understand. In the future age, this may be the reason why New Jerusalem will be capable of returning to earth periodically, regardless of where it may be located in the matter universe at the time.
